I introduce one of the luxurious Lodges called Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge. It’s situated at 2161m ASL on the Nteko ridge overlooking a beautiful swath of Bwindi impenetrable forest. It has been a gradually growth and development of Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge because it started as Camp site in 2007 to its current status to a fully-fledged lodge. Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge has won some a wards as one of the Uganda’s leading Lodges in 2016.2017,2018 and 2019.
At Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge, there are Eight Garden Cottages, 3 Villas made up of 2 interconnecting superior cottages and 1 family Villa with shared balcony, all cottages are hand-crafted using local materials, each cottage featuring sitting area, fireplace, en-suite bathroom and private Veranda/Balcony. The offering the tranquillity of the rain forest, the atmosphere of a mountain chalet and the warm hospitality Ugandans are known for.
A lucky few visitors will observe the clouds envelop the forested valley below the camp and be party to views to the north as far as the glaciers on the Rwenzori peaks some 160 kms distant. In January 2010 visitors were thrilled to witness the eruption of the two active volcanic mountains in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Both Nyiragongo and Nyimuragira continue to light up the night sky on clear evenings. While at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, you can clearly view Mountain Karisimbi, Mountain Visoke/ Bisoke, Mountain Sabyinyo and Mountain Mgahinga.
