Situated in north west of Rwanda. The slopes of Volcanoes National Park habitats the mountain Gorillas -the major tourist attraction in Rwanda. The park is dominated by a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath.

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park is supplemented by Golden Monkey trekking, Birding, Mountain Hiking, Cultural tours, Nature walks and community tours among others. Parc National Des Volcans (In French) is the oldest park on African continent and offers gorilla trekking safaris for all tourists wanting to go gorilla trekking in Rwanda.
Volcanoes national Park covers 160 square Kilometers of green rain forest and bamboo and several tourist activities are managed by Rwanda Development Board (RDB). Other activities done in this park include twin lake tour, Dian Fossey tomb tour, Mountaineering and so on.
While in the park, look for other mammals like bush pigs, bush bucks, Giant forest, hogs, spotted hyenas, Duiker, vervet monkeys and colobus monkeys among others.
