This 12 days Uganda tour includes, visit to Ngamba Chimpanzee Island, visit to the source of the Nile for boat trips and white water rafting, chimpanzees trekking in Kibale National park located in western Uganda, gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National park in south western Uganda and Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest Lake in Africa situated in Kabale district which was nicknamed “the Switzerland of Africa”.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport
On arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will then transfer you to your lodge to rest. Dinner and overnight stay at Emin Pasha Hotel, Urban by City Blue or Ivory Castle Hotel.
Day 2: Kampala city tour
In the morning your guide/ driver will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the whole itinerary and the entire trip. Set out for a city tour around Bulange the administrative headquarters of Buganda kingdom kabaka’s palace the official residence of the King of Buganda, Kasubi tombs where Buganda kings are buried. Have lunch and visit the Uganda Museum and return to your Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary
Drive to waterfront Beach-set off for a boat at exactly 9am to Ngamba Island, home to over 49 orphaned chimpanzees, reaching on time for feeding meet the chimpanzees and you can as well participate in the feeding, learn more about these chimpanzees, look out for other primates like monkeys and many bird species. Return to your Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kayunga district – White water rafting on River Nile
After your morning heavy breakfast drive to Kayunga district – proceed to Kalagala falls on River Nile for white water rafting. Enjoy the most popular water trip on the Nile for a full day then transfer to Jinja town for dinner and overnight at Jinja Nile Resort, living waters Resort, Casa Mia Baliidha.
Day 5: Boat cruise – Drive back to Kampala
Head out for a morning boat cruise starting from the source of the Nile and tour river Nile the longest river in the whole world. Touring Jinja and the source of the River Nile is another way of enjoying the beauty of Uganda “the pearl of Africa” Drive back to Kampala, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National park
Have early morning breakfast and transfer to Kibale National park. Kibale National park is located in western Uganda and moist evergreen forest covering an area of 766 square kilometers and well known destination for chimpanzee trekking in Uganda and many bird and primate species. Kibale National park can be accessed via Mubende Fort portal road for a distance of 300kms approximately 6-7 hours drive. Dinner and overnight at primate lodge Kibale, Kibale forest camp or chimpanzee forest guest house.
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi walk
Drive to the park headquarters in the morning for briefing and group allocation by the ranger guides about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee tracking. With your packed lunch and enough drinking water set off to the forest in search for the great chimpanzees guided by the rangers, follow the trails in the forest for 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for the chimpanzees, along the way watch the birds in the forests, monkeys , baboons and other wild animals. On encounter with the chimpanzees, you are allowed to 1 hour in the presence of the chimpanzees for observations, pictures, and videos for the chimpanzees and learn more about them as you head out of the forest back to your lodge. In the evening after relaxations, go for a swamp walk in the bigodi swamp sanctuary in search for other primates like L’Hoest’s, velvet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue tailed, Olive baboon among others. Back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park
Later on after your breakfast, set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National park in south western Uganda, for a distance of 236 square kilometers approximately 5-6 hours drive Kibale National park. Bwindi impenetrable National park is home to over 500 endangered mountain gorillas and famous for gorilla trekking. Diner and overnight at Buhoma lodge, silver back lodge or Broadbill forest camp.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking experience
Enjoy your heavy breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking and group allocation, with your packed lunch and enough drinking water embark on a breathe taking and memorable experience of gorilla trekking, follow the trails to the forest in search of mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. You are allowed to only 1 hour in the presence of mountain gorilla for viewing, observations, take pictures and videos and return back to the lodge. Later in the evening go for evening walk to the batwa community, enjoy the traditional dances, storytelling, handcrafts among others, back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Set off to Lake Bunyonyi – Relaxation
Drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale also referred to as the Switzerland of Africa and bird paradise. Relax at the lake showers as you enjoy the great scenic views and refresh from the previous fatigue after gorilla trekking. You can also go swimming as the lake is safe from bilharzia. Meals and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Eco Resort, Bunyonyi safari Resort, Paradise Eco Hub.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi – canoeing and nature walks
You can go canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi and visit the 29 islands on the lake, each island has a different history to learn about for example the punishment island where young girls who got pregnant before marriage were thrown to die. Have lunch and visit the nearby forests for game viewing and bird watching. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Transfer back to Kampala
After your breakfast, set off back to Kampala or Entebbe Airport, stop over at Agip motel in Mbarara for lunch and drive Entebbe Airport for your flight back, en route at the equator for photography and last souvenir shopping.
