This 6 day (5 Nights) Rwanda trip will enable you encounter both gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Both treks are indeed amazing!! The trip starts with a visit to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a tropical rain forest in south west Rwanda, home to different primates. Some of the mammals in the park include chimpanzees, owl faced monkeys and colobus monkeys. You will track the chimpanzees and enjoy a canopy walk in the Nyungwe Forest.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali Airport – Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional safari guide/ driver – transfer to Nyungwe National Park. This amazing journey will expose you to a variety of en route attractions. You will have dinner and overnight at Emerald Kivu Resort, Nyungwe Hill top view Hotel or Gisakura Guest House.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking – afternoon relaxation
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing in preparation for actual Chimpanzee trekking. Nyunwge Forest hosts other primates like cobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Mona monkeys among others. On lucky days, you may encounter some other primates while in the forest. When you meet chimps, you will stay for one hour for viewing and photographing. Return to your accommodation for lunch, relax and wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Early morning breakfast will be followed by the transfer to the home of mountain Gorillas. You will have en route stopover at Lake Kivu for lunch and relaxation. Proceed to the park in the afternoon for dinner and overnight at Virunga Lodge, Sabyinyo silverback Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambu Gorilla Lodge or Muhabura Hotel.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking – Afternoon relaxation
After breakfast, move to the park headquarters for briefing – then actual Gorilla tracking. Move in different groups to encounter Mountain Gorillas- meet them and return to you accommodation for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Drive back to Kigali city – City tour
After breakfast, drive back to Kigali city to visit Gisozi Genocide Memorial museum, local art and craft shops, fruit markets and so on. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel, Hotel Chez lando or Kigali Step Town Motel.
Day 6: Drive to Kigali Airport – Departure
After breakfast drive to Kigali Airport for your departure flight.
