Day 1: Kigali airport- Kigali city tour – Bwindi impenetrable National park
On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our tour guide, do a city tour around Kigali town, visit the local markets, craft shops, Genocide memorial and later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park in south western Uganda via Cyanika or Katuna border. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi forest lodge, Bwindi jungle lodge, Broadbill forest camp.
Distance: 4-5 hours drive.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience
Early morning after your breakfast, with your packed lunch and enough drinking water move to the park headquarters for briefing on the rules and regulations by the ranger guides regarding trekking the endangered species and group allocations depending on age, interests and physical fitness. Start on the strenuous hike into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas in their home, the trek may take 1 – 4 hours depending on how far the group you are allocated to is. On meeting these primate species, you are allowed only 1 hour in their presence for observations and return back to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 3: Gorilla Habituation experience
Have your breakfast and with packed lunch and enough drinking water, move to the park headquarters where you will be taken through the rules and regulations of habituating gorillas by the ranger guides. Set off to the forest guided by the ranger guides, researchers and scientists who carry out the habituation process. On encounter with the gorillas, you are allowed only to 4 hours in the presence of the endangered species as you take pictures, videos with the gorillas and later descent back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Return back to Kigali airport.
Drive back to Kigali airport after your breakfast via Katuna Cyanika border for your flight back to the next destination.
