While in their natural habitat, Gorillas do some routine activities to live a normal or reasonable life. Below are some of the activities done by Gorillas while in their natural environment. Some of these can be witnessed during a gorilla trek while others are quite uncommon.

There are several reasons to account for their movements. Sometimes Gorillas move for security reasons, other times in search of food, and exploration among others. It should be noted that Gorillas spend most of the day time feeding hence they tend to move shorter distances.
Young Gorillas climb trees
In most cases, young gorillas climb trees to feed on young leaves, fruits, stems, and tree barks among others. However, most of the time, the young gorillas climb trees to simply play. The weight of the adult gorillas does not allow them to climb trees. It is very rare to find a well-grown gorilla climbing a tree.
Gorillas live in groups
Mountain gorillas live in groups. This enables them to overcome challenges like being attacked by predators. It should be noted that man, python, and leopards are the major enemies of Gorillas but staying in groups enables them to challenge their enemies when attacked.
Gorillas build their nests
Every evening, Gorillas build new nests near the previous nests. It’s noted that Gorillas can’t spend one night in a nest for a reason we are yet to discover.
Female Gorillas take care of young ones
In a gorilla group, one of the major responsibilities of female Gorillas is to nurture young Gorillas by carrying them on their backs, feeding them, and protecting them among others.
The dominant male mountain Gorilla (Silverback) protects the Gorilla family backed by young female Gorillas. In case of any attack, the male Gorillas lead by the silverbacks protect and stop the enemy from attacking family members. Gorillas are peaceful animals that spend most of their time eating
