Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

Kabale and Kisoro towns are situated in western Uganda and a few kilometers from Bwindi Impenetrable National park. From Kisoro or Kabale, tourists can trek Gorillas in southern Bwindi: Rushaga gorilla center, Ruhija Gorilla center, or Nkuringo Gorilla center.

For 1 day Uganda gorilla safari, the clients are advised to spend the overnight in any of the hotels in Kisoro town or Kabale town where our safari guide/ driver can easily pick them up early morning at around 5 pm. Below is the possible itinerary

Day 1: Our safari guide picks you up from your Hotel in Kisoro or Kabale town. Transfer to the home of mountain Gorillas (Bwindi Impenetrable National park). Be at the park headquarters at around 7:30 am for the morning briefing.

The briefing takes 30 minutes and thereafter, trekkers move in groups to meet mountain Gorillas in their natural environment. The walk may take 3-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas however, you can meet them after a few minutes walk from the park headquarters.

Encounter with Mountain Gorillas:

When you meet gorillas, set your cameras ready to take memorable photos, open your eyes widely to see the amazing apes, and leave a distance of 7 meters to avoid the spread of diseases from Gorillas to humans and the reverse is true. UWA allows 1hrs stay with Gorillas and thereafter, return to park headquarters to be awarded the certificate of completion.

You can walk around the nearby areas and thereafter, return to Kisoro or Kabale for relaxation at your Hotel OR you can continue to other tourist destinations of your interest.

How about 1 day Uganda Gorilla safari from Kigali- Rwanda?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rwanda decided to close all ground borders including Katuna and Kyanika. There is another allegation that the closure of the mentioned border posts came after the disagreement between Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame and Uganda’s president Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni. For that allegation, the writer is still investigating the truth before making his conclusion.

1 Day Uganda Gorilla tour from Kigali:

Our prayer is that Uganda- Rwanda borders open soon to allow 1 day Uganda Gorilla tour from Kigali. The possible itinerary can be:

Day 1: Pick up from the Hotel in Kigali at around 4 am – transfer to southwestern Uganda to meet gorillas in Mgahinga National Park or Bwindi Impenetrable National park.

You will reach any of the parks by 7:30 am for briefing before setting off to meet mountain gorillas.

In conclusion, Uganda is the home of the largest number of mountain gorillas worldwide and travelers on a low budget can still enjoy gorilla trekking to meet the requirements for a 1-day gorilla tour.
