There are a few changes in the gorilla trekking procedures in Uganda. In this article, we attempt to keep you up-to-date with the information we believe is important for the success of your gorilla safari during the pandemic.

Gorillas are sensitive to contagious diseases. Since with share slightly similar DNA with Gorillas, there is a need to be cautious in order to avoid being disease carriers.  Covid-19 has brought panic among the people of the world and thus carefully prepare for Gorilla trekking.

Before setting off (When still at your home)

Prepare to pack enough sanitizer, soap, mask, and body gloves among others.

Covid-19 vaccination – take the first and the second jab to complete the doze

Come with enough funds to make PCR tests. One on arrival and another one on departure.

On the journey

Put on your mask and observe all the SOPs.

On arrival 

On arrival in the country hosting gorillas, get a PCR test and wait for your results. If found positive, the journey will be postponed and if found negative, you will be allowed to continue with your gorilla trekking safari.

On Gorilla Trekking Date

On the day of Gorilla trekking, trekkers are supposed to put on their masks and move with sanitizers and protective clothes. Walk to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter, walk into the forest to see the amazing gorillas.

While with Gorillas, keep distance between you and the primates and also social distance between humans and humans throughout the exercise.
