As per 4th November 2019, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park protects 17 habituated Gorilla Families plus Nyakagezi family which is found in Mgahinga National Park. It’s also believed that Mgahinga National Park received a visitor known as Hirwa Gorilla family from Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Currently, the visitor is managed together with Nyakagezi Gorilla family – two of them receive trekkers on daily basis.

The two Gorilla parks have a lot to offer in terms of vegetation, relief and drainage among others. The cost of Uganda gorilla is currently at US$600 but expected to increase starting from June 2020.
What is the location of Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks?
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated in far south western Uganda. Bwindi forest can be accessed from Queen Elizabeth National Park to the northern just 2 to 3 hours drive, from Kampala through Mbarara about 7 to 9 hours drive or from Kabale town to the southern just 1 to 2 hours.
Mgahinga National Park is also found in far south western Uganda at the boarder of Uganda and Rwanda. The park is situated in Virunga mountains with different types of vegetation. The park is 510km/317mi from Kampala (at least nine-hours’ drive) and it can be reached by road from Queen Elizabeth NP (around six hours) or Lake Mburo N.P (five to seven hours).
