Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

Among the most visited destination in Uganda includes the water bodies:

1. Lake Victoria (the largest freshwater Lake in  East Africa offers a lot to tourists. The Lake is surrounded by beaches and dotted by a variety of islands. Common islands include Ngamba, Ssese islands with a series of islands, Bugala islands, Kome Island, and Bujingo Islands among others. You can enjoy Lake Victoria on the boat and visit different islands or simply enjoy the life at the surrounding beaches.

Other water bodies which are frequently visited include the Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel rewards clients the views of water-loving mammals like hippos, Crocodiles, Monitors lizards alongside different bird species like King Fisher and so on.

2. River Nile– it’s the longest in Africa with its source in the Jinja district but the mouth is in the Mediterranean sea. You can enjoy River Nile on a rafting boat or other boats to explore its source in Uganda.

3. Murchison Falls – One of the World’s most powerful waterfalls is Murchison Falls. It’s situated in Murchison Falls National Park (the largest in  Uganda). It’s adventurous to reach the bottom of the falls or boat to see and take pictures of water flowing from uphills to lowlands on a steep gradient.

The amazing crocodiles, Hippos, and Monitor Lizards among other animals found drinking water at the river bank, not forgetting the variety of water Loving birds like Kingfishers and so on.

4. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park– Bwindi Impenetrable Forest receives many visitors on a daily basis. Many go there to see Uganda’s number one tourist attraction (mountain Gorillas). Trust me, you will not regret visiting the Rushaga sector, Buhoma sector, Ruhija sector, or Nkuring sector for Gorilla trekking.

The current cost of an Uganda Gorilla permit is US$600 but is most likely to increase starting from 1st June 2020. Many trekkers argue that the high cost of a gorilla permit is worth the activity. Gorilla trekking in  Uganda is a lifetime event and reaching Bwindi Impenetrable forest is memorable though some people decide to stop in Mgahinga National Park. Its believed that Bwindi’s impenetrable forest hosts almost half of the world’s mountain Gorillas thus receiving a large number of visitors on a daily basis.

5. Kibale National Park– Once you go Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, also think of Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. It’s on record that Kibale National Park offers the best chimpanzee trekking experience. Imagine meeting Gorillas and Chimpanzees in their natural habitat!!! It’s a really enjoyable, unforgettable, and above all life event.

In conclusion, when you visit Uganda- the above are must-visit destinations but there are other destinations you can visit like Mountain Rwenzori, Mountain Elgon, Kidepo Valley National Park Semliki National Park, and Mgahinga National Park among others.
