Its unfortunate that no suspect has been arrested since the  duration on which the act was done, is just estimated but investigations are still on going. The action of killing the white giraffes is a wake up call for serious conservation.

The appearance of the white giraffes is due to a condition called leucism, which causes skin cells to have no pigmentation. The female white giraffe first made headlines when she was discovered, alongside her calf, in 2017 thus boosting tourism activities in the area.  The remains of the white giraffes were found in skeletal form as stated by the rangers at Ishaqbini Hirola Conservancy. Only one member is left among the three.

This is a big challenge to East African Tourism fraternity; in 2018, eleven lions where found dead in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. It the confirmed poisoning by malicious people claiming lions for eating their domestic animals, the nearby residents stated.
Statistically, lions have been killed in a number of poisoning incidents in Uganda.
In May 2010, five lions were killed in the park in another possible poisoning case.
Between May 2006 and July 2007, 15 lions were also killed in the area in attacks blamed on landless herdsmen defending their cattle.
