Photographing is among the must do activities for all travelers on the safari. For a better trip experience and great memories, a camera should be among the first items in the bag of the traveler. As far as photographing is concerned, Uganda has a lot to offer ranging from Beautiful topography, the amazing drainage, the sun, Vegetation and people among others.
Among the best tourist destinations suitable for photographing include:
Kampala city: its situated in the heart of Uganda (central region) and the Capital city. Kampala is endowed with a lot of attractions like the five hills which make up Kampala, Cultural centers like Kasubi Tombs, Kabaka’s palace, Uganda Museum and so on. Kampala is a business centre with many markets like owino, Nakasero, Wandegeya among others. Administration centres like Uganda parliamentary building, State house Nakasero and different ministries among others. Religious centres like Kibuli Mosque, Old Kampala Mosque, Namirembe Cathedral, Nsambya to mention but a few. All visitor to Kampala city needs to take memorable photos of some of the listed centers if not all.

Ngamba Island: It’s amazing to visit an island and Ngamba is incredible for the following reasons;
-Ngamba island hosts some of the orphaned chimpanzees in Uganda
-There is a variety of water loving birds and insects
-The boat trip to and from the Island
-Other attraction on the way to the Island and so on.
Ngamba island is situated on Lake Victoria situated few kilometers from Entebbe water Front beach. Ngamba Island also hosts orphaned chimpanzees so, if you visit the Island, expect to take clear photos of the sun raising or setting, unique photos of Lake Victoria alongside nearby Islands, amazing photos of chimpanzees and birds among others. For birders, Ngamba Island is the best option!

Lake Bunyonyi: Among the deepest lakes in the world. Visiting Uganda and Miss Lake Bunyonyi can be truly a mistake. It’s one of the most beautiful Lakes in Uganda situated in south western Uganda and well known for its dotted Islands. The name Lake Bunyonyi was derived from many birds (Locally called Bunyonyi) which are found lingering at the shores and the Islands. It’s amazing to spend the night on one of the island and spend different days on other island. While here, take memorable photos of the beautiful Islands, birds and other unique features on this Lake. Watch the sun raising and sun setting!

Mountain Rwenzori: it’s the highest block mountain in Uganda. Its famously known as the “Mountains of the moon” because of its height above the sea level. Serious mountain climbers and photographers must put Mt. Rwenzori among the top places to visit in Uganda. Hiking Mountain Rwenzori rewards the view of Mountain Speke (4,890 m), Mount Baker (4,844 m), Mount Baker (4,844 m), Margherita Peak (the highest), Mount Emin (4,798 m).
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: It’s the home of Mountain Gorillas on addition to Mgahinga National Park. It’s famous for hosting Mountain Gorillas and the Batwa Pygmies among others things. It’s one of the tropical forests which Uganda is proud of having! The virgin forest with great biodiversity!
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is situated in far south western Uganda with four Gorillas tracking sectors namely; Nkuringo Gorilla trekking centre, Ruhija Gorilla trekking centre, Rushaga Gorilla trekking sector and Buhoma Gorilla trekking sector – you can choose where to trek Gorillas from. While in Bwindi Forest, take photos of powerful waterfalls, unique tree species, amazing Mountain Gorillas, a variety of bird species and tree species among others.

Murchison Falls: One of the major and powerful waterfalls Uganda is proud of! The best of Murchison Falls can be seen while in Murchison Falls National Park. Take a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls – take memorable and one of the world’s best photographs – see splashing waters forming a rainbow like feature. While cruising to the bottom of Murchison Falls, expect to take photos of crocodiles, Hippos plus other animals lingering around the shores of the river. From the bottoms, return to the starting point – drive to the top of Murchison Falls to take clear photos of water flowing down slopes.

Source of River Nile – River Nile is the longest River in the world. It’s believed that the source of River Nile is situated in Jinja and you just need board a boat to the origin of River Nile. The Nile flows for 6700km from the source to the mouth (From Jinja to Mediterranean Sea).The three month journey of River Nile from the source to the mouth go through northern Uganda and the desert of Egypt. At the source of River Nile in Jinja- there is a monument which can be reached on boat. Take memorable photos while at the source and if you need more, take the journey to the mouth.

Mountain Elgon: The highest Volcanic mountain in Uganda with Wagagai as the highest peak. Though adamant volcano, it offers a lot to the photographers. Among the unique attractions on Mt. Elgon is the crater/ Caldera, montane vegetation, Rivers, waterfalls, caves among others. Mountain Elgon is situated in Eastern Uganda at Uganda- Kenya boarder.

Bwindi impenetrable Forest: Its located in southwestern Uganda making up Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.  The dense forest is famous for hosting half of the world’s mountain Gorillas. If you leave Uganda minus visiting this park count it a big loss. The park is known for protecting a variety of birds, water falls, unique tree species and so.

Kibale Forest is know for protecting hundreds of chimpanzees, birds and other primates like colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys and so on. Kibale forest is a primate haven and birders paradise among others. It’s 5-6hrs drive from Entebbe Airport to Kibale National park.
