Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Trek Gorillas In Uganda

1. Rare species of Gorillas. Uganda is among the few lucky countries protecting Mountain Gorillas. They are rare and endangered so, encountering them is regarded as a lifetime event. For more information, mountain Gorillas are only found in Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
2. Two Gorilla parks. Uganda is gifted with two Gorilla parks namely; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. That means Uganda offers a wide range of Gorilla trekking. In case you fail to get Gorilla permits in other countries, it’s hard to miss Gorilla trekking in Uganda.
3. Five Trekking centres. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has four trekking centres namely; Nkuringo, Buhoma, Ruhija and Rushaga while Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Ntebeko. Each trekking centre has different Gorilla families and you can try to visit each sector to get a unique experience.

7. Affordable Gorilla permit. Uganda’s Gorilla permits cost US$700 compared to Rwanda’s at US$1500.
8. You can choose the terrain to trek. Nkuringo and Ruhija Gorilla Trekking centres in BINP and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are known to offer a challenging terrain. Strong hikers can trek Gorillas in Ruhija, Nkuringo or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park to test their level of fitness. Weak trekkers can trek less strenuous terrain of the Buhoma sector and Rushaga sector.
9. The tropical rainforest of Bwindi and some spots of the bamboo forest are amazing.  The unique tree species in the Bwindi forest are amazing.
10. You can take on Gorilla habituation. Gorilla habituation gives you more time with Gorillas compared to normal trekking. Gorilla habituation is more detailed than Gorilla trekking. You spend a full day in the forest, witnessing, and studying Gorillas.
