Uganda is the most well-known mountain gorilla trekking destination in Africa because of its, affordability and safe gorilla trekking. Gorilla tourism is a significant source of income for the government of Uganda; trekkers pay 600 USD and 700 USD starting 1st July 2020 and 1500 USD for gorilla habituation in Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. One of the safe places to be for gorilla trekking in Uganda is either Bwindi Impenetrable National park or Mgahinga National park. The rangers are highly motivated, equipped and trained to keep gorilla trekking safe and secure. The government of Uganda has done a lot to keep security in and around Gorilla parks, the parks are guarded by tourism police and Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) soldiers. The aim is to secure visitor from man eaters and rebel attacks.

Ranger guides in Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National parks are armed to protect the travelers in case of any threat because living alone the mountain gorillas, there are many wild animals like lions, leopards, bush pigs that may attack the trekkers.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda is a fully escorted experience; it all starts with briefing early in the morning at 7:30 on the rules and regulations governing gorilla trekking which cautions every trekker to behave well in the jungle.

The government of Uganda is ensuring tight security at every lodge. All lodge owners are cautioned to employ armed persons to safe guard visitors at night, on addition to the Army which guards the entire area of Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Park.

The travelers are cautioned to maintain the rules and regulations while on a trek, for example strictly keeping 7 meters in the presence of the primates, don’t keep direct eye contact for they might misunderstand it as being hostile and they charge, no eating and drinking in the presence of the gorillas all these are intended to boost visitor safety in the wild.

Uganda gorilla tourism is a very safe experience and can be done at any time of the year though you bare it in mind to observe the set rules and regulations governing gorilla trekking them you can enjoy the activity.
