It is the only mountain gorilla national park outside the Virunga conservation area. Though the Virunga conservation area is 25 times bigger than the Bwindi impenetrable national park; Bwindi almost shares the same gorilla population as the Virunga conservation area.

There are generally three most popular gorilla safaris; a One-day gorilla safari, Two days gorilla safari, and a 3 days gorilla safari. These three options are very popular because Uganda has positioned itself as a budget gorilla trekking destination compared to Rwanda.
These three gorilla trekking options often come in popularity as budget options. Among the few things to consider when choosing among these three gorilla trekking options in Bwindi impenetrable national park include the following:
How to Choose Your Budget Gorilla Safari in Uganda
It is important to note that Uganda is not strictly a budget gorilla safari destination. But the most popular gorilla trekking packages are the above three budget options. There are also midrange and luxury options but they are not as popular as the budget options.
Your Gorilla Trekking Sector
When choosing a one-day gorilla safari, you must be keen about which gorilla trekking sector you will be trekking in. The most recommended sectors for the one-day gorilla safari are the Rushaga and Ruhija sectors of Bwindi impenetrable national park.
It should be noted that Bwindi has four gorilla trekking sectors that are relatively apart. It requires some extra caution when choosing a gorilla trekking sector more so if you are coming from Kigali for a one-day gorilla safari to Uganda.
If you ever choose a sector like Buhoma for a one-day gorilla safari, it will still be possible but hectic because your travel from Kigali to the Buhoma sector will take a little bit longer.
The Gorilla Safari Budget
Most gorilla safari tourists opt for the one-day gorilla safari because of their limited budget. If it wasn’t for the budget, they would have gone for the 1 day gorilla safari in Rwanda. Therefore by choosing the one-day gorill safari in Bwindi; they are actually trying to cut the budget.
However in choosing the one-day gorilla safari whether in Bwindi or Mgahinga; you must be ready to spend almost six hours of your night before the trek mostly awake. Though there are options for taking naps; it is not equal to having quality sleep time.
It is therefore highly recommended to avoid the one day gorilla safari in Uganda. The best minimum option would be the 2 days gorilla safari. This is because, with the two days gorilla safari, you can have enough rest on day one. On day two; you will have a gorilla trek in any sector of choice based on your gorilla permit.
The 3 days gorilla safari is the most recommended of all these safaris. With the three days gorilla safari, you will have enough time to rest before and after your gorilla trek. It will save you from dealing with safari fatigue.
Time At Your Disposal
Many tour operators would highly recommend a 3 days gorilla safari to Bwindi but sometimes the 3 days are not at your disposal. When some people consider the issue of flights and other costs, they usually simply take their chances on a 1 day gorilla safari or 2 days gorilla safari.
If you can afford local flights, you can easily execute a 2 day and one-day gorilla safari to Uganda. You can opt for a flying safari from Entebbe. The one-day gorilla safari will be a little more costly given the fact that you have to use a charter flight yet for the two days gorilla safari, the charter is not necessary.
