The 5 days gorilla safari is a combination of a one-day gorilla trek in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, a game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park, and a cultural experience with the Batwa tribe

Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or airport and transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable National park in southwestern Uganda through the Katuna border. Expect to see the beautiful scenic views of Rwanda the land of a thousand hills, the Kigezi hills. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla safari lodge, Gorilla mist camp, and Bakiga lodge.

Distance: 4-5 hours drive
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa visits
After your early morning breakfast, move to the park headquarters for briefing and group allocation by the ranger guides. Then embark on the breathtaking experience of searching for the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, and hike through the thick rainforest with lowlands and highlands. On encounter with the endangered species, you are allowed only 1 hour in their company as you observe them, takes pictures and videos then descend back to your lodge for the next activity. In the evening go for a guided tour to the Batwa community for a Batwa experience, enjoy their entertainment of traditional dances, storytelling, handcraft making, and the medicine man who uses herbs to cure different diseases, and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park.
From Bwindi impenetrable National park, set off to Queen Elizabeth National park after your breakfast, through the Buhoma sector via Kihihi town Ishasha sector where you will have a glance at the tree-climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National park that stay up in the trees intending to escape from the high temperatures on the ground and the tsetse flies that eat them. You will also see other wild animals like leopards, elephants, antelopes, and so on. Have lunch and continue to the Mweya sector. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge, Marafik safari lodge, and Simba safari camp.
Distance: 4-5 hours drive
Day 4: Morning Game drive and Afternoon Boat cruise.
Have an early morning game drive to catch up with the early morning risers that come out to look for food, drive through the Kasenyi plains, Mweya peninsular with the largest concentration of wild animals including elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, antelopes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, sitatungas, water bucks among others.
Return to your lodge for a late breakfast and relax as you wait on lunch. After lunch goes for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, the boat takes 2 hours as you watch the various wild animals like crocodiles, hippopotamus, and many water-loving animals like buffaloes, birds, and elephants that stay at the shores of the channel. Return back for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National park to Kigali airport
After your breakfast, transfer back to Kigali airport via Mbarara Ntungamo, a stopover for lunch in Kabale, and proceed to the Katuna border as you enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Kigezi rolling hills, the changing vegetation, rivers, and escarpments then to Kigali airport for your flight back.
